Special GIVEAWAY for Crochet Divas!

August 11, 2010 at 4:53 pm 7 comments

Happy 1st Anniversary Crochet Divas! In honor of this special occasion, I am hosting my very first giveaway! There will be three winners in total. Each will win an exclusive button, especially designed for the Crochet Divas by yours truly.

The rules are simple:

1) You must be a member of the Crochet Divas on Ravelry. If you are not a member already, you are more than welcome to join at any time. We would love to have you in the group!

2) You must answer the following question in the comment box below – Why are you a Crochet Diva?

(Humor is appreciated, but not mandatory. :))

I will number all of the comments and randomly select the winners on August 25th. I will announce the winners on my blog shortly thereafter. (Be sure to check back! It just may be you!)  The winning Crochet Divas are responsible for contacting me via email (info@handsindelight.com) or PM on Ravelry with their mailing address to receive their prize.

Happy Stitching and Good Luck!

The definition of Diva is distinguished. I joined Ravelry looking for like-minded ladies (and gentlemen) who love to crochet as much as I do, and I succeeded. However, when I joined the Crochet Diva group on Ravelry, I found much more. In the first few months of that group I discovered 2 of the most distinguished, wonderful women in the world that have since become some of my closest friends in this world. It doesn’t matter how many miles separate us, we are there for each other through the fun and difficult times. Since those first few months, our wonderful group has expanced to 300 Divas and it is a wonderful place to go and share our love for crochet. Oh, those original 2 are still my closest friends and will be for eternity, but it never hurts to expand the number of friends you have – the more the better! Thanks, Stitchie for starting this group – I know I’ve been changed for the better because of it.

I am a Crochet Diva because I choose to crochet rather than to knit. I boldly enter my LYS and declare that I am a crocheter, and I ask to see their selection of crochet patterns and hooks! I proudly crochet in public places and I am not afraid to correct people who ask what I am “knitting”. I will spend half an hour defending my craft to those who tell me that crochet is for old ladies. I never leave home without a hook in my purse. I am a teacher, and I started a crochet club in my school. I have taught dozens of middle school kids to love crochet as much as I do. I am a Crochet Diva and I am living the Crochet Dream.

Well I am a crochet Diva because I own more hooks than I can fit in my hands(though those that own only a few can be a diva too), I proudly wear my own creations, give them away freely and put them on my kids. I have told hubby that it’s cheaper than therapy and or drugs and he can kiss it if he ever asks me to give it up.I will also teach anyone who asks and tell people it isn’t as hard as you think, give me a minute and chains will be flying off your hook.

I became a Crochet Diva so that I could show off my crocheting talents to others who enjoy this art form of HOOKING.
